Dictate long prompts with built-in /voice push-to-talk
Enable /voice and hold Space to speak complex requirements into the prompt instead of typing walls of text.
The problem
Specifying nuanced architecture or bug context is faster spoken than typed, but pasting from an external dictation app breaks flow.
The hack
Run `/voice`, then hold Space (or use tap mode) to transcribe live into the prompt input. Mix typed and spoken fragments in one message.
Why it works
Official voice-dictation support turns the prompt box into a multimodal input — especially useful for long specs and while Claude is already generating.
Setup
1. Update Claude Code, then run `/voice`. 2. Hold Space, speak, release to finalize (or `/voice tap` for tap-to-talk). 3. Grant mic permissions if prompted. 4. Optional: enable auto-submit on release in voice settings. 5. Requires a Claude.ai login for cloud transcription.
